I designed the living area of the Hummingbird h3 to evoke a sense of openness and airyness by providing abundant sources of light, ventilation and outdoor space exchange. Implementing the continuous ventilating clerestory across the majority of the structure helps to accomplish this design objective. It articulates the "Heat-Stack" principal of passive cooling and provides the occupant ample, indirect daylighting while
giving the space a spirited "lift".
The integrated task/ eating island maximizes the common space, but may be optioned for a conventional free-standing dining table. This option moves the dishwasher and sink to the 'L' shaped kitchen section, removing the island and availing space for the dining table.
